New to Natural hair? Having a hard time keeping up with the abbreviations? Check this out (This list will be growing as I add to it):
DC - Deep Conditioner. An intensive conditioning treatment left on the hair from 10 minutes to an hour.
PT - Protein Treatment. A treatment to strengthen the bonds of the hair. Usually followed up with a moisturizing deep conditioning treatment.
Henna Gloss - Mixing ayurvedic powders directly in a deep conditioner of choice.
BC - Big Chop. Cutting off damaged or relaxed ends of hair.
JBCO - Jamaican Black Castor Oil. A smoky, darker variety of Castor Oil. Usually used to aid hair growth.
SM - Shea Moisture. A product line that specializes in Natural Hair care items.
WNG - Wash and Go. A style that sets the hair in it's natural curl pattern with the aid of gel or a curl defining cream.
Praying Hands - A method used to apply product to hair to ensure maximum clumpage of curls by placing hands in a prayer position over and under the section of hair.
